The International Ski Federation (FIS) has released the provisional calendar for the 2026-2027 Alpine Ski World Cup, marking the 61st season of the sport's premier global competition. According to reports from PlanetSKI, the season will span from October 2026 through March 2027, featuring a mix of historic European classics and a robust North American tour.

The season officially commences with the traditional Giant Slalom events in Sölden, Austria. From there, the tour moves to Levi, Finland, and Gurgl, Austria, before splitting into separate trajectories for the men's and women's circuits. A significant portion of the early season takes place across the Atlantic, with stops at Copper Mountain, Killington, Beaver Creek, and Tremblant.

The centerpiece of the 2026-27 campaign is undoubtedly the 49th Alpine World Ski Championships, taking place in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, from February 1st to 14th, 2027. This marks the second time the Haut-Plateau has hosted the event, returning 40 years after the 1987 championships. The resort has been a consistent venue for World Cup and European Cup racing since 2008, and organizers note that infrastructure planning and volunteer recruitment are already well underway.

Several notable changes define this season's calendar. The women's circuit sees a return to Killington after a one-year hiatus necessitated by venue upgrades. In Italy, Bormio returns to the schedule following its use as an Olympic venue last season, while Alta Badia introduces a men's night slalom thanks to new floodlighting. Additionally, the Austrian resort of Gosau will host its first-ever World Cup events, stepping in for Lienz.

As the season progresses toward the spring, the men will head to Sweden, while the women's technical races move to Soldeu, Andorra. While the calendar remains provisional, the season is set to conclude in the United States, with Sun Valley, Idaho, serving as the host for the World Cup Finals on the 'Challenger' course. Some events, such as the women's speed double-header in January and the stop in Narvik, Norway, remain subject to confirmation pending venue readiness.
