Brian Head Resort in Utah offered a distinctive twist on Valentine's Day this year. On February 14th, the resort hosted "Love Lift Speed Dating" on the Blackfoot Chairlift, providing singles with a memorable and potentially romantic experience on the slopes, according to a report from snowbrains.com.

The event took place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the Blackfoot Chairlift. Participants had the chance to meet multiple potential partners while enjoying scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

Here’s how the event worked:

  • Singles who wished to participate simply opted in at the lift line.
  • Resort staff paired participants with a new seatmate for each ride up the Blackfoot Chairlift.
  • Each ride lasted approximately six minutes, giving singles a short window to chat and see if they connected.
  • Conversations could range from preferred snow conditions and favorite après-ski spots to the age-old question of pineapple on pizza.
  • If sparks flew, couples could ski or snowboard together for the rest of the day. If not, participants simply returned to the lift line to meet their next potential match.

Brian Head Resort set the following requirements for participation:

  • Participants had to be 18 years of age or older.
  • Participants needed to be able to ski or snowboard.
  • Participants had to have a valid lift ticket or season pass.

Chairlift speed dating offered a unique alternative to traditional dating formats, and a chance to meet someone while enjoying the outdoors.
