Crans-Montana, a Swiss resort situated on a south-facing plateau at 1,500m, is attracting more British skiers with its blend of on- and off-slope offerings. The resort boasts views of eighteen 4,000m peaks. According to PlanetSKI, Crans-Montana is more than just a resort; it's a lively area with a substantial year-round population and diverse amenities.
The resort prides itself on contrasting elements:
- Sunshine and views
- High-level sport
- Family activities
- Cosmopolitan atmosphere
- Luxury and relaxation
Crans-Montana is constantly evolving, with preparations underway for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2027. The acquisition of the ski lifts by Vail Resorts has integrated Crans-Montana into the Epic Pass network, offering new opportunities for development, according to PlanetSKI.
The resort is known for its festive atmosphere, with après-ski venues, bars, and nightlife. The snow-covered landscape, frozen lakes, and pedestrian-friendly streets provide a mountain escape.
Crans-Montana offers a variety of skiing experiences, from beginner slopes to World Cup event runs. The ski area ranges from 1,500m to 3,000m and includes over 20 mountain restaurants and huts.
For ski touring enthusiasts, there's the Ski Rando Parc, developed in collaboration with ski mountaineering champion Séverine Pont Combe. It features routes for all levels. Nordic skiing enthusiasts can enjoy trails in the resort and routes on the Plaine Morte glacier at 3,000m.
A day lift pass uses a dynamic pricing system, costing between CHF 69 and CHF 89. Booking online in advance and for multiple consecutive days yields greater discounts. Children under 9 ski for free, and senior citizens receive special rates, especially during the low season. The Fastlane option provides priority lift access.

Since Vail Resorts acquired the lift system in 2023, Crans-Montana has become part of the Epic Pass network. The Epic Pass, starting at $1,051 (CHF 832) for adults, offers access to 42 resorts worldwide, including two in Switzerland: Crans-Montana and Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis. It also includes limited days at partner destinations in North America, Japan and Europe.
During winter, the golf courses transform into a leisure center with activities like walking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Snow Island offers family activities, including adapted ski slopes, sledding, snowtubing, and electric snowmobiles.
