Kitzbühel is gearing up to host the third edition of its electronic music festival, Sound | Escape, from March 20–22, 2026, according to inthesnow.com. The three-day event promises to be bigger than ever, featuring more than 30 artists performing across 19 venues both on the mountain and in the town. These locations include two dedicated Alpine Stages, offering a unique concert experience.

Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser, Managing Director of Kitzbühel Tourism, stated that the festival builds upon the success of its previous iterations and continues to evolve its concept. The event aims to strengthen the town's connection to electronic music and unite local businesses within the ski area and the town of Kitzbühel.

Sound | Escape consolidates existing electronic music events from various mountain huts, bars, and clubs into a single, coordinated program.

Festival Schedule:

  • Friday, March 20: The festival kicks off at Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn, followed by performances at participating venues in town.
  • Saturday, March 21: The musical focus shifts to the Hahnenkamm, with performances extending from the mountain into Kitzbühel's nightlife scene.
  • Sunday, March 22: The festival concludes with a relaxed finale both on the mountain and in town.

Headline Performers:

The festival will be headlined by Claptone, the internationally acclaimed house DJ and producer known for his distinctive Venetian mask. Claptone has performed at major global events such as Tomorrowland and Coachella.

To accommodate festival attendees, adjusted lift operating hours will be in effect:

Friday, March 20, 2026:

  • Hornbahn I & II: Open until 19:00 (7:00 PM)
  • Hahnenkammbahn: Open until 23:00 (11:00 PM), with a break from 17:00–17:45 (5:00 PM - 5:45 PM)

Saturday, March 21, 2026:

  • Fleckalmbahn: Open until 18:30 (6:30 PM)
  • Hahnenkammbahn: Regular Saturday hours until 18:00 (6:00 PM)

A valid Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel lift ticket is required for access to all mountain venues. Discounted return tickets for the Alpine Stages will be available for €20. On Friday, this special ticket applies to pedestrian access via Hornbahn I & II to Alpenhaus. On Saturday, the ticket is available for the Fleckalmbahn at its valley station. Some ski-area venues are also accessible on foot from gondola stations.

Due to high demand, organizers recommend making advance reservations at participating venues. Entry to Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
