Arapahoe Basin is proving once again why it holds a reputation for offering some of the longest ski seasons in North America. According to reports from SnowBrains, the Colorado resort has opted to extend its 2025-26 operational calendar through May 10, following a late-season storm cycle that delivered 14 inches of fresh snow to the Continental Divide.
The resort had initially planned to wrap up its 194-day season on May 3. However, the unexpected boost in snow coverage prompted leadership to keep the lifts turning. In a statement, the resort emphasized its commitment to the mountain's culture, noting that they decided to do the most "A-Basin thing" possible by continuing operations rather than calling it quits early.
Operational Details for the Final Weekend
Skiers and riders looking to catch these final turns should note that the resort will pause operations mid-week, from May 4 through May 7. The mountain will then reopen for its final push from Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 10. The Black Mountain Express and Lenawee Express will be the primary lifts in service to access the remaining terrain.
While the extension is a win for spring enthusiasts, the resort cautions that terrain will be limited. Currently, there are no beginner runs available, meaning the final weekend is best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers looking to navigate high-alpine spring conditions.
Pricing and Logistics

For those without existing passes, the resort has priced lift tickets at $39 for the final days. Additionally, those who have already secured their 2026-27 season passes, including Ikon Pass holders, will be able to use their passes for immediate access during this final weekend.
Closing Festivities
True to the spirit of Colorado spring skiing, the final weekend is slated to be a celebratory affair. The base area will host live music on Saturday and Sunday, accompanied by end-of-season retail sales. The resort is also expecting the return of its signature closing-weekend tradition, where guests often arrive in costume to mark the end of the winter season.

Looking ahead, Arapahoe Basin remains on track for its summer season kickoff, which is scheduled for July 2. The summer slate includes the popular Via Ferrata and other high-altitude recreational activities, with passes for the summer season currently available for purchase.
