In an historic weekend for British winter sports, GB Snowsport athletes have solidified their status as a global force by securing four World Cup Crystal Globes in a single season. As reported by PlanetSKI, the achievements of Zoe Atkin, Kirsty Muir, and Charlotte Bankes represent an unprecedented high point for a nation often noted for its lack of traditional high-alpine geography.

Zoe Atkin, the 23-year-old freestyle skier, dominated the Halfpipe event in Silvaplana, Switzerland. Coming off a bronze medal performance at the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, Atkin qualified first and maintained that momentum to win the competition. This victory earned her a 70-point lead in the overall standings, marking her second career Crystal Globe.

Kirsty Muir also enjoyed a landmark weekend in Silvaplana. After a weather-affected Slopestyle final where she took silver, Muir cemented her position at the top of the leaderboards. She secured both the Freeski Slopestyle title and the Freeski Overall Park & Pipe title, completing a breakout season that included earlier victories in Secret Garden, Snowmass, and Tignes.

In the snowboard discipline, Charlotte Bankes added to her legacy by winning the Snowboard Cross (SBX) overall title. This marks her third career Crystal Globe. Bankes, who also secured gold in the Mixed Team SBX at the Milan-Cortina Games alongside Huw Nightingale, continues to be one of the most decorated snowboarders in British history, now boasting 30 World Cup victories.

GB Snowsport CEO Vicky Gosling praised the collective effort, noting that these results follow the nation's most successful Olympic Winter Games to date. The program finished the 2025/26 campaign with 50 major podiums. Head Coach Pat Sharples attributed the success to the consistent performance of the athletes and the tireless work of the coaching and support staff throughout the winter months.

Beyond the freestyle and snowboard success, GB telemark skier Jasmin Taylor also contributed to the team's momentum, recording her twelfth podium of the season with a bronze in the Parallel Sprint at Les Contamines Montojoie.
