As the 2025-2026 winter season draws to a close, Loveland Ski Area in Colorado has announced its final operational plans. According to a press release, the resort will shut down its lifts for the summer on Sunday, April 26, 2026, following a weekend of festivities.
The highlight of the closing weekend is the 25th Annual Corn Harvest Benefit Ski Party, scheduled for Saturday, April 25. This long-standing event serves as both a celebration of spring skiing culture and a fundraiser for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC). Friends of CAIC will receive all proceeds from the event, which directly supports the organization's essential work in avalanche forecasting and backcountry education.
Guests attending the Corn Harvest are encouraged to embrace the spring spirit by wearing Hawaiian shirts and colorful attire. The event includes a full day of activities, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and continuing through the afternoon. Registration is highly recommended via the resort's official website. Each registration includes a raffle ticket, with opportunities to purchase additional entries for various prizes.
Current reports from the resort indicate that Loveland remains in solid condition for this time of year, with a 37-inch mid-mountain base supporting 506 acres of skiable terrain across 41 trails and 4 lifts. To encourage final turns, the resort is offering spring lift tickets starting at $80.
The atmosphere will be bolstered by live music throughout the weekend. Mark Morris & The Rope Duckers are slated to perform at the base area on both Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additionally, attendees can catch on-mountain performances at the Ptarmigan Roost Cabin between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on both days.
Whether you are looking to enjoy a final BBQ lunch on the mountain patio or participate in the charitable raffle, the weekend offers a final opportunity for the local community to gather before the seasonal transition.
