Located within the heart of Banff National Park, Sunshine Village is a staple of the SkiBig3 group. The resort is unique for its high-alpine positioning, straddling the Continental Divide across Mount Standish, Lookout Mountain, and Goat’s Eye. This elevation advantage allows the resort to sustain one of the longest ski seasons in Canada, typically stretching from November through mid-May.

For those planning a late-season trip, the resort currently projects an operations end date of May 18. The terrain on offer caters to a wide spectrum of ability levels. Families often gravitate toward the dedicated learning zones found on Standish and Strawberry, while expert riders frequently look toward the renowned Delirium Dive. It is important for guests to note that high-consequence zones like the Dive require specialized avalanche safety equipment and a partner for entry.

Beyond the technical terrain, the resort is known for its wide, above-treeline groomers that offer expansive views of the Canadian Rockies. With slope-side accommodation available at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge and a location just 20 minutes from the town of Banff, the resort balances remote-feeling alpine adventure with modern convenience. As the season winds down, visitors are encouraged to keep an eye on local snow reports, as spring conditions can shift rapidly based on daily temperatures and incoming weather patterns.
